THE OMNICON GROUP LAUNCHES OUTSOURCING DIVISION
HAUPPAUGE,
NY (May 28) - The Omnicon Group, one of the nation's leading specialized
engineering firms, has created a new outsourcing division for major
companies in the aerospace, communications, transportation and defense
industries.
In addition to its existing industry-specific engineering service
divisions, The Omnicon Group has created a specialized service for
decentralized companies with one or more facilities where on-site
engineering personnel is not always available or economical.
According to Scott Abrams, president of Omnicon, the company's new
unit is called OMsource. OMsource will provide clients with highly
skilled and
knowledgeable engineers with the resources available to perform
all tasks efficiently via an integrated environment. OMsource will
offer an infrastructure specifically designed to provide both onsite
and remote services in the areas of reliability, maintainability
and safety engineering to companies throughout the United States
and abroad. Additionally, it will provide complete management and
administrative services on all projects, from inception to completion.
Citing a growing demand for outsourced services in this field, Abrams
said: "In essence, the new division is a logical extension
of the service we have
been providing companies since 1984. We want to deliver this solution
at a significant cost saving to our customers," he said. By
reducing overhead
costs and increasing productivity, OMsource allows companies to
focus on core strategies and new contracts."
The Omnicon Group has won a number of awards in recent years, including
the Deloitte & Touche "Long Island Fast 50 Award"
for the past two years and the Hauppauge Industrial Association
Business Achievement Award. Additionally, Abrams was named "Reliability
Engineer of the Year " by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic
Engineers (IEEE).
